This fall, Nassau Suite Hotel and Blue Lavender Cafe & Market become part of Miami Beach’s cultural landscape with an exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Marine Fonteyne, presented as part of Hispafest 2026.
On view from October 22 through December 10, 2026, the exhibition extends across both Nassau Suite Hotel and Blue Lavender Cafe, inviting hotel guests, café visitors, neighbors, and the wider Miami community to encounter contemporary art in an informal, everyday setting.
Fonteyne is a Brazilian-born, Belgian-descended artist based in Miami whose practice expands photography through textiles, embroidery, fiber, collage, sculpture, and installation. Her work explores themes of memory, ancestry, migration, womanhood, and identity, often transforming photographic images into layered, tactile objects.
Rather than treating photography simply as a record of a moment, Fonteyne uses it as a point of departure. Images are stitched, altered, reconstructed, and combined with physical materials, suggesting the ways memories themselves change over time.
The exhibition is presented within Hispafest 2026, an initiative created by the Bright Foundation to connect diverse communities through art while supporting artists and celebrating creativity, cultural exchange, and shared experiences.
The exhibition is curated by Nubia Abaji, with Verónica Medina as Curatorial Collaborator and Cultural Host.
